I recall a conversation regarding a cancer bucket. What is a cancer bucket, you ask? It was a metaphorical way of explaining that once you are prone to getting cancer (which was a genetic thing in their case), there were behaviors that could start filling the cancer bucket or keep the monster at bay by avoiding known cancer-causing behaviors.
Examples included:
- Bad diet and exercise habits
- Excessive sun exposure
- X-rays and medical procedures
The Lead Bucket Is A Thing

Lead Bucket
This bucket is a cumulative exposure that starts before you are born. Lead crosses into the fetal circulation. Exposure during pregnancy is a serious problem that sets the unborn child up for problems. Lead exposure or poisoning, if you will, is credited with all sorts of maladies that I do not want to go into, but the point is that the bucket starts filling before you are born.
Other bucket-filling activities or exposures are avoidable. If you could see the hazard, you could avoid it. The Lumetallix instant lead test is to prevent the bucket from filling in the first place.
Baby Bottles
We recently witnessed the testing of the paint on glass baby bottles. Plastic bottles used to be the rage, but then plastics were considered hazardous. So the pivot occurred to glass again, but the darn things were slipping into the country that had lead paint on them. You can’t tell with the naked eye, and they avoid XRF detection (too small for the head of the tool to detect > 1 square cm), so the kid gets lead on their hands, and poof, the bucket starts to fill.
Seeing the brand and the bottle test positive for lead on Instagram does not necessarily expose a smoking gun. Things change; a bottle brand we tested several months ago was positive for lead. We purchased and tested the same brand, make, and model, which turned out negative. Did we make a positive change? Did the manufacturer change the paint? I like to think so.
Why aren’t the purchasing agents at these stores testing their products before they hit the shelves? Why are the manufacturers checking their products before they are shipped to consumers? (Lumetallix on Instagram has an expose on the subject).
Invisible Lead Dust
Harping on this is just common sense. Once you can see the Invisible Lead Dust using the Lumetallix instant lead test, it is fairly easily cleaned up, and then you have made progress on keeping the lead bucket empty. The trick is you have to be able to see it so, having a kit and using it regularly makes a difference. This dust could be brought in from work-related things, or it could be brought in by walking through lead dust from any number of environmental exposures. Leaving your shoes at the door is a start.
Why aren’t people who are exposed at work or during recreational shooting testing themselves before they return home?
The Renovation Next Door
One of the inventors of Lumetallix was testing the dust on his garden plants from a dusty renovation next door. POSITIVE. The dust emitted from the renovation gets on everything from the wind. You could end up inhaling it, Your kid is breathing the same air. Your plants could be bringing it into the house. Why aren’t renovators professional or DIYers testing?
Your Pet Could Be Bringing It In

Good Boy!
Pets that go outside could be bringing it in on their paws. Pets are also susceptible to lead exposure just like humans and could be getting poisoned. Few get tested.
Lead builds up in your body, there is no good way of getting rid of it so prevention is the key. But How? firs is awareness, then it is being able to see it, then it is persistence and avoiding the scenario where avoidable exposure is just one more thing that you do to keep you and your loved ones safe.
Exposure Confirmed By Blood Test
The last thing you want to hear is that your child has a blood lead level in the first place. Once you do, Mom’s spiral into the mama-bear mode and protect against inadvertent exposure. This is a natural behavior. The only tool in the toolbox at the moment is the Lumetallix instant lead test. Use it and see for yourself. Release your inner detective and find it and eliminate it from your environment. Keep the Lead Bucket Empty!
